The Many Rewards of Volunteering

Your time is among the greatest gifts you can give. Seniors First volunteers know the rewards that come with seeing an elderly client smile at the receipt of a warm meal and the warmth of companionship. Oftentimes, volunteer visits are the highlight of a senior’s day, a break in the loneliness in an otherwise isolated life. For this reason and countless others, our volunteers are crucial to our programs and invaluable in the hearts of every senior they meet.

Meals on Wheels Volunteer Sign Up Form

Volunteers are the heart of our Meals on Wheels program. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the life-changing meals homebound seniors rely on. Volunteers deliver one day a week from the hours of 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Routes typically take only 60–90 minutes.

  • Hobby Hosts

Have a special hobby or interest? Eager to share it? You can lead a class or session from anywhere, virtually or at a physical location.

  • Project Connect

If you’re tech-savvy, we need volunteers to teach seniors how to use Claris Companions (Samsung tablets).

  • Community Food Pantry Volunteer

Volunteers are vital in sorting and stocking donations, as well as assisting those in need during our twice-monthly pantry days.

  • Community Food Pantry Donations

Help us restock our pantry. Donate food items to benefit our Community Food Pantry. Low-sodium and no salt- or sugar-added foods are especially healthful and appreciated.

  • Group Volunteering

Our Neighborhood Lunch Program offers a great opportunity for groups of 8 – 10 volunteers to spend time with seniors who gather for a meal, games, and social activities.

  • Special Events

Volunteer for our two most rewarding Special Events, the High Tea & Hats luncheon and our Seniors First Turkey Trot 5k.

  • Holiday Gift Drive

Share the holiday spirit with seniors by donating on your own or as a group with your business, church, or club.

  • Administrative/Office

Assist with light clerical duties during our regular business hours. Training will be provided.

  • Donation Drives

Help host personal care, housecleaning, or food pantry drives with your business or group.
